Privacy policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026.
This Privacy Policy describes how Sunset Atomic LLC ("CreateRatio," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the official CreateRatio browser extension and website (together, the "Service"). See also our Terms of use, including how the MIT software license relates to our official services.
In brief: the extension stores activity in your browser profile and does not send those records to us. Website hosting, website-only analytics, and messages you choose to send us are separate from the extension's local tracking.
1. Information we handle and its sources
Local extension activity. On enabled X and LinkedIn integrations, the extension processes page structure, navigation, and interaction timing to recognize creating, consuming, and supported actions. It stores time spent and counts of posts, replies, comments, quotes, likes, saves, and reposts by site and local date. It does not save post text, usernames, post IDs, screenshots, keystroke values, or full page URLs. These records come from your browser activity, not data brokers or imported browsing history.
Optional website time. All-website time is off by default and requires your approval of optional browser permissions. When enabled, the extension briefly reads the active tab's URL to identify its domain and uses browser focus and idle state to measure active time. Only domain names and time spent per local date are saved, not URL paths, query strings, titles, or page content. This feature excludes private tabs and pages other than HTTP/HTTPS websites.
Intentions and preferences. Intentions entered for site access are processed only on your device. Remember my intentions is off by default. If enabled, it saves the latest 100 intention texts, sites, and dates locally, including cancelled requests. Saved intentions are excluded from CSV exports. The extension also stores settings, permission preferences, access-session state, and identifiers that prevent duplicate activity records. These are stored locally and are not advertising identifiers. Domain names and intention texts may reveal personal interests.
Website connection information. Amazon Web Services hosts and delivers our website. It processes information needed to serve requests, such as your IP address, requested resource, request time, and browser headers, which may include a referrer. Website access logging is disabled in our hosting configuration. AWS may separately process or retain operational and security information under its own terms. Website hosting does not give us access to the extension's local records.
Website analytics. The production landing page on createratio.com and www.createratio.com uses Plausible Analytics. It receives the page URL, referrer, pageviews, engagement time, and scroll depth, along with your IP address and browser headers. According to Plausible's data policy, it derives approximate location, browser/device statistics, and daily visitor identifiers without storing raw IP addresses or User-Agent strings. We receive aggregate statistics backed by event/session records. We do not use advertising, custom-event, outbound-link, download, or form tracking. Local and preview versions of the website and the privacy and terms pages have no analytics tracker. Website analytics never includes local extension activity.
Information you choose to provide. If you send a support request, privacy inquiry, or store review, the recipient may receive the name or account identifier, contact details, message, and attachments you provide. Mail sent to our privacy address is received through Google Workspace, which processes the messages and their headers alongside the publisher. Reviews and public issues are visible to others.
We do not require a CreateRatio account, payment details, government identification, or precise location. The extension is free, with no paid features or cloud sync. We do not currently operate a CreateRatio checkout or process payments.
2. How information is used
- Local activity, preferences, and deadlines provide tracking totals, scores, charts, CSV exports, and deliberate site-access sessions.
- Website connection information delivers the website and supports its reliability and security; website analytics helps us understand traffic and improve the landing page.
- Information you voluntarily send is used to respond to your requests and maintain the Service.
- Information actually held by us may be used where necessary to comply with applicable legal obligations or protect against misuse.
We do not use extension activity for advertising, sell or rent personal information, train AI models on it, or use it for creditworthiness, lending, or employment decisions. We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you; local scores and access gates are productivity features you choose to use.
CreateRatio's use of information handled by the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Extension activity is used only for its disclosed user-facing features.
3. Sharing and third-party services
The extension stores information locally, not through Chrome Storage Sync, and has no analytics or telemetry. It does not send its activity records, intentions, or exports to us, advertisers, or other third parties.
Amazon Web Services processes website connection information, Plausible processes website analytics, and Google Workspace processes privacy correspondence, as described in Section 1. Support and review platforms process submissions under their own policies. Store reviews are public and handled by Google; no local activity data is attached to feedback links.
We may disclose information we hold when legally required or at your direction. This does not include local extension records, which we cannot access. X, LinkedIn, GitHub, and other linked websites handle information under their own policies.
Open source is not public data. Publishing the code under the MIT License does not publish your activity, intentions, or exports, grant us ownership of them, or give us access to them. Independent forks, modified builds, and services run by others may handle information differently and are not covered by this policy.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
The production landing page uses Plausible's cookie-free analytics. It does not set analytics or advertising cookies or use session replay. The extension uses local browser storage to support its features. An optional website-analytics opt-out preference is also stored in your browser if you set it. Third-party sites and platforms may use their own cookies or storage.
Our no-sale and no-targeted-advertising practices apply whether or not your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. Those signals do not switch the extension's local features on or off; use its controls and browser permissions for that purpose.
5. Retention and deletion
Activity and website-time histories are retained for 30 local calendar days including today. Storage limits may remove the oldest whole days sooner. Cleanup runs when the extension runs; records in a closed browser, a disabled extension, or a backup cannot be removed by that cleanup. Preferences and access-session state are stored separately from activity history. The current delivery window holds up to 512 retry identifiers. Older pending measurements expire when the window resets to prevent duplicate totals; saved activity remains. Optional intention history keeps the latest 100 entries until you clear it or remove the extension's data; it is separate from the 30-day activity history.
Turning tracking off stops new recording but does not delete existing records. Clear history in Settings removes activity and website-time histories while preserving preferences, access-session state, and separately managed intentions. CSV exports contain retained activity or website-time records, not saved intention text; they are created on your device, not uploaded, and you control their sharing and deletion. Uninstalling clears extension-owned browser storage, but not exported files or copies in device/browser backups.
We do not retain website access logs through our disabled hosting-log features. We use Plausible's Business plan, which provides five years of analytics data retention according to its published pricing. We can delete our site's analytics data earlier through Plausible. If you contact us, we keep your message only as long as needed to respond or meet legal requirements. Provider-held operational metadata follows each provider's policies and may have different retention periods.
6. Your choices
- Activity recording. Each site's Limit & track setting controls recording and access restrictions together. Turning it off stops both without deleting saved history. Optional all-website time is controlled separately, and its browser permissions can be revoked.
- Intention saving. Saving is optional. Turning intention saving off stops new saves but keeps existing entries. Saved intentions can be reviewed or cleared separately from activity history.
- Local records. Local controls provide access, CSV export, and deletion of activity and website-time records. Clearing extension storage or uninstalling removes extension-owned records, but not exported copies.
- Website analytics. Browser controls that block analytics requests or disable JavaScript can prevent website analytics without disabling local extension tracking.
- Voluntary sharing. Contacting us, posting reviews, and sharing exports are optional. No CreateRatio account is required.
We cannot remotely retrieve, correct, or delete records that exist only in your browser. Those records are managed through the extension and browser controls.
7. Your privacy rights
Where applicable privacy law grants these rights, you may request information about processing, access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of information we hold. You may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, appeal a denied request, or exercise rights without unlawful discrimination. Rights depend on your location and the applicable law and can be subject to lawful exceptions.
For residents of California and other U.S. states with applicable privacy laws, the categories, sources, purposes, recipients, and retention criteria are described above. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use local activity to infer sensitive characteristics for advertising.
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, relevant legal bases include consent for optional website-time tracking, legitimate interests in providing user-requested features, operating and securing the website, understanding aggregate website usage and responding to inquiries, and compliance with applicable legal obligations. You can withdraw optional tracking consent using the feature's controls; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Sunset Atomic LLC is the responsible publisher and controller for information we hold.
Privacy requests can be submitted to the contact in Section 12. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity or an authorized agent's authority. We respond to applicable requests within the time required by law, subject to its exceptions. We can act on information we hold; local-only extension records remain under your control as described in Section 6.
You may also complain to the relevant data-protection authority where applicable. European Economic Area users can find their authority through the European Data Protection Board; UK users can contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
8. Security
The extension uses packaged code and browser-provided storage and isolation. The public website is available over HTTPS. These measures do not guarantee perfect security or imply that local records are encrypted by the extension. Keep your device and browser profile secure and your browser up to date.
9. International processing
Local extension records are not transferred internationally by us. Our website's AWS origin is in Northern Virginia, United States, and CloudFront uses a global delivery network. Google Workspace processes correspondence through Google's service infrastructure, which may be in countries other than yours. Plausible states that its visitor analytics data is processed and stored in the European Union. Data-protection laws in these locations may differ from those where you live.
Information about our providers' data protection and international-processing arrangements is available in AWS's data privacy information, Google's Cloud Data Processing Addendum, and Plausible's data policy. Google's standard Workspace terms incorporate its addendum, including contractual transfer safeguards where applicable. Contact us if you want more information about processing or applicable safeguards, including how to obtain relevant contractual information.
10. Children's privacy
CreateRatio is a general-purpose productivity tool, not a service designed specifically for children. We do not knowingly solicit children's personal information in violation of applicable law. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information to the publisher can contact us; we will review the request and delete information we hold where legally required. Local extension records can be removed through the browser as described above.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will update the date and publish the revised policy. Material changes to extension data handling will also be reflected in the store disclosures and user-facing explanations, with additional notice or consent where required. The published version of this policy applies to the Service; its last-updated date identifies the current text.
Any future cloud or paid service must be optional and explicitly opt-in. Before offering it, we will explain its data handling and any additional providers or payment processing separately. A policy update alone will not enroll you in such a service or authorize uploads of your local extension records.
